I took a break from the botanical granny squares to make this mandala in memory of Marinke Slump. I found out about her tragic suicide while searching the internet for a Black-eyed Susan granny square pattern. There is a project to raise awareness of depression that will feature the colorful mandalas that she was known for. More information can be found
